exchange, accessibility, & tuition-supported opportunities

exchange - A healthful exchange involves sustainability for facilitators and participants, and tuition is based on the dynamic balance of financial accessibility and fair compensation. You can feel good that your tuition goes to sustaining earth medicine education. Payment plans offer an opportunity for you to pay over time, and partial tuition work trade opportunities may be available based on enrollment and school needs.

equity seats - A minimum of two seats are available for Black, Indigenous and People of Color Participants. When possible, we do request participants pay a sliding scale deposit $25-$275; for these fully-funded seats, the remainder of the course tuition is covered. Sometimes we are able to offer partially-funded equity seats to cover half the course tuition. Equity seats are part of a bigger initiative within our learning community to listen to Black and Brown voices in healing, to be together and support each other in our healing work, and to build a culture that changes the damaging narratives and practices in alternative and mainstream healing spaces. Equity seats benefit everyone in our programs. more on access - Moving invitation online increases access to those outside of a particular geographic area, but it also requires access to computers and internet and comfort with that medium. Expanding our offerings to increase access in multiple ways is a priority for the school. If you have any particular questions about access, please reach out.

logistical FAQ

1. Is invitation completely online? Do I need to be there live? 

invitation 2022 is a completely online course with both recorded and live components all at rootdeep.thinkific.com. We do request and highly recommend participation in live classes which will take place Thursdays 1pm-3:30pm ET | 10am-12:30pm PT.

Each Friday you’ll gain access to weekly recorded content, and we recommend you create a rhythm that works for you to integrate this content in preparation for live class the following week. Content released each Friday will be relevant to our class discussions the following Thursday.

2. How much time should I dedicate to this course?

We suggest shaping about 11 hours of each week for your full connection with invitation. This includes live class time, recorded class time, and additional time for you to explore suggested exercises and deepen your practice.

We also encourage you to create time and space for practical integration of what you’re learning, including activities like making your own incense and building relationship with the wild beings in your place. We recommend carving out at least an additional 2 hours (ideally even more!) each week for these complementary aspects of learning.

3. How do I begin?

invitation applications for spring 2022 are closed. Join the dwelling newsletter to stay updated on more earth medicine learning opportunities and the next round of invitation.

Applications for invitation 2022 are open until March 1 or when the course fills. Preregistration payment plans are available with registration before February 1. This course centers relationship with each other and the medicine, so space is limited and prompt registration is recommended to reserve your spot.

4. What’s the application process like?

one: Complete the online application: invitation Application.

two: Pay the $25 application fee: Application Fee. *Fee is waived for equity seat applicants.

three: After we receive your application fee and review your application, the dwelling team will contact you by email to schedule your video interview. This interview allows us the opportunity to discuss your interest and investment in earth medicine study and practice, consider questions and challenges that may arise, and affirm that this course is a great fit for you at this time. We want to be sure you’re finding the right learning space for you, and we will happily share with you about other options we know of if those may better suit your needs and requests.

four: We’ll be in touch by email within one week of your interview. If you are accepted for invitation 2022, your course deposit is due within two weeks of acceptance to reserve your space in our class.
